Alcuin School is organized as a not-for-profit corporation (501(c)(3)) that is governed by a Board of Trustees who serve without remuneration. The purpose of the corporation is entirely educational: to operate a Montessori and International Baccalaureate® school for children and to provide opportunities for academic development of its students.
The mission of the Board of Trustees of Alcuin School is to make decisions and take actions which will ensure the long-term viability of the school and the preservation of its mission for future generations.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the financial stability of the Alcuin School, the strategic plan for the future of the School and hiring and evaluating the Head of School. The daily operation of the School is the responsibility of the Head of School. Together with the leadership team, the Head of School oversees the daily operations, sets the pedagogical direction and implements board policies.
