If you’re a parent, you’re in the Club! Parent involvement is a key element in the welcoming
nature of our community and the success of many events. We encourage parents to participate in
school and classroom activities as a means to get to know other parents and support the school,
Parents’ Club and Dads’ Club activities.
Alcuin School parents volunteer in many ways. They serve as room parents and provide classroom help, organize a variety of social and community-building events, and assist with parent education programs. The Parents’ Club helps to coordinate many of our parent volunteer
opportunities.
Parents’ Club - The Parents’ Club generally meets the first Wednesday of each month at 8:30
a.m. in the Wyly Performing Arts Center on Alcuin's campus. Check the school calendar for final dates. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. Each meeting covers the planning of upcoming events and an update by the administration. Attending a meeting is an excellent way to get involved.
The Parents’ Club plans the General Parents' Meeting, Italian Dinner Night, staff appreciation activities, the School Store, Auction, Giving Tree, International Festival, Ambassador Program, and Parent Divisional Coordinators. Parents collaborate with school staff to organize a Book Fair held annually in November. Our parent volunteers are the heart of our school, so please get involved in any way you can!
Dads’ Club - The goal of the Dads’ Club is to promote the involvement of the Alcuin School fathers in school-sponsored activities. Each year, the Dads’ Club organizes several signature events such as the Social Hour after the General Parents’ Meeting, Dads’ Breakfast for the dads, Moms’ Breakfast for the moms, Monday Night Football Party, Italian Dinner Night and Dads and Children Golf Tournament. Watch for the Dads’ Club table at the General Parents’ Meeting, or visit the Dads’ Club section of the school website for more information. Don’t miss these fun and
informative gatherings.
Room Parents
The Room Parents and Guides ask parents to assist with classroom and extra-curricular activities.
Planning holiday celebrations, helping to maintain the classroom gardens, making materials, and
organizing field trips are some of the activities for which parents are needed. Each parent is a vital
part of the school community. Volunteers are needed in many areas and are encouraged to speak
to their classroom’s Room Parents regarding their interests.
Scouting and YMCA – Cub Scouts, Girls Scouts, Adventure Guides and Princesses - Alcuin School parents establish troops for boys and girls each year. All children of appropriate age are invited to join. Most groups meet on campus.
Cub Scout Non-Discriminatory Policy: Cub Scout Pack 425 abides by a non-discriminatory
policy with a commitment to diversity, in accordance with School policy as outlined in this
