In accordance with Section 46.03 of the Texas Penal Code, Alcuin School is a gun-free zone. We greatly appreciate your assistance in abiding by this law as we strive to maintain the safety of our students, faculty members, and guests.
The Texas Penal Code that states that carrying of any firearm (licensed or not, concealed or open-carry) is still prohibited on elementary and secondary educational campuses. This is as authorized by section 46.03 of the Texas Penal Code, which states that firearms may not be carried "on the physical premises of a school or educational institution, any grounds or building on which an activity sponsored by a school or educational institution is being conducted, or a passenger transportation vehicle of a school or educational institution, whether the school or educational institution is public or private, unless pursuant to written regulations or written authorization of the institution." (Texas Penal Code 30.06-07 specifically addresses the carry of firearms on school campuses).
Any item classified or used as a weapon may not be brought onto campus, including parking lots, athletic fields or out buildings, or to any school function off campus. No concealed or open carry firearms are allowed, even if you possess a concealed carry license. Any individual violating this policy may be subject to criminal penalties.
