- We will ask for advice-At Alcuin School, we are committed to being principled which includes ensuring all the work we submit is authentic and sources are properly acknowledged. If we have any doubts, we will ask for advice.
- We will avoid plagiarism by-
- Crediting all sources even if they are paraphrased or summarized.
- Clearly distinguishing between our work and the source with quotation marks, indention or similar method.
- Using a style of referencing that is appropriate for the discipline.
- We know academic misconduct includes-
- Plagiarism: the intentional or unwitting representation of the ideas, words, or work of another person without proper, clear and explicit acknowledgement.
- Collusion: supporting academic misconduct by another student such as allowing one’s work to be copied or submitted as the work of another student.
- Duplication: the presentation of the same work for different assessment or assignment requirements.
- Other: any behavior that creates an unfair advantage for the student.
