The Alcuin School Innovation Studio (HIVE), located in the Galbraith Family Building, offers a
prepared environment in which our students can maximize their creativity, imagination,
innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership. By learning new frameworks for problem
solving using technology and other tools, students can collaborate, innovate, and execute
extended projects that will teach them about real world issues and other phenomena.
Part of the program will be the DeLeon Entrepreneurial Leadership Speaker Series that will
give students information and inspiration and will consist of speaker visits, field trips,
conferences or TED talk attendance, internships, competitions, and mentorships. It will also be
an opportunity for parent involvement and will provide a platform to leverage parent
knowledge and skills.
Alcuin students, beginning in first level, will have access to the HIVE and all materials. They
will work in the Studio and in their classrooms/libraries as appropriate to complete their
projects using the Design Model that is already part of the overall Montessori curriculum.
